Training Personally with Peggy Edwards

Meeting Peggy Edward’s has been life changing. She is such a women’s champion. Her personality and training are second to none. My daughter and I started working out with Peggy about 6 years ago. She was starting her business and would make home visits. It was so wonderful that she would change her schedule according to our life and schedules. We loved that Peggy would tailor our workouts to our physicality at the moment. She would help us modify our workout so that we would feel our best. Her knowledge is great. She would come up with options on the fly. A very well prepared trainer that knew what we needed next. I so very much appreciate her willingness to help us achieve our best. With my neck and back limitations she knew what and how to modify.

At her gym she creates circuit work regimes. Week to week it changes. Each circuit is 40 seconds with a 15 second break in between. She is there with you so that she can check your form and if you need to modify in anyway. There are 10-15 circuits each week. She has permitted me to come in from time to time and walk on the treadmill if I need to just do that. Her equipment has all the items that Peggy has worked with over the years. She is not afraid to try new workouts and new methods. She boxes and loves to get a good punch in now and then. She doesn’t punch me, she hits a punching bag. Just making sure you are paying attention! 🙂 Peggy has a mission as well. She usually posts a quote, verse or saying. The gym has a great atmosphere with music and friends. Peggy makes sure that she introduces everyone in the room. A very comfortable place.

The following information has been copied from Peggy’s press release and information sheet when she opened her gym.

Training Personally with Peggy Edwards specializes in full-body interval, or circuit, training for people of all levels of physical fitness. This workout style is characterized by working each exercise for 40 seconds at a time and resting for 15 seconds. These challenging but fun and powerful workouts include training with kettlebells, free weights, and balance trainers, as well as other easy to use equipment provided by the gym.

Peggy Edwards, owner, is a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise and a nutrition specialist with the American Academy of Sports Dietitians and Nutritionists. Peggy and her husband Bob Edwards, co-owner and manager, are passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves they can be. “My mission,” says Peggy, “is to help you start, practice, and master healthy habits that will give you energy, strength, and endurance to live the life you were created for.”

Regular hours are from 5:30am-8:30am and 5:30pm-8:30pm Monday through Thursday and Saturdays from 7am-11am.

When you walk through the door Peggy will greet you and give a quick walk through of the day’s circuit. Every circuit will be designed to be a full body workout. You can choose to complete the circuit one to four times per visit. Including the warm up and cool down, your workout will last up to one hour. Once you have completed the walk-through of the circuit and warm up, you will jump in starting with any of the approximate 12 exercises. Each exercise has 40 seconds of work and 15 seconds to move to the next exercise. Peggy will be in the room to help with modifications and form.

He Woman · home projects · wall paper removal · what I love

He woman points!

In my family all of the girls get together and work on projects together. We patch holes, hang wall paper, remove wall paper, painted faux finishes, even invented faux finishes, paint, clean, make the curtains, hang curtain rods, manage minor plumbing and electric. I believe that is why I feel pretty equal at least with the men in the family thus earning my He woman name, Mel. Thanks Angie or should I say Angelo? We all climb ladders, lift too much, move furniture. I even remember cutting off feet of a couch just to get it through a door. We do what life requires. We have a lot of fun and knock IT OUT!!!

Back to that removing wallpaper thing. While painting one time I discovered something. I was removing a border and painting my son’s room. It was summer and I was painting all of the bedrooms. I tackled the boy’s room first. It had all of the normal boy dirt there. Especially one of the walls had lots of green boy dirt on it. I use Shaklee H2 it is a concentrated cleaner that you mix with water in different concentrations for different cleaning jobs. This time I chose the degreaser concentration to remove that green dirt. I soaked the wall and left it for 10 minutes discussed and gagging. I sure love those boys!

When I returned not only was I able to wipe the wall clean instantly but I noticed the Nascar border coming of the wall. I started peeling. Then I sprayed again and pulled off more. Again, again and again until the whole border was off! I could not believe it!

The next room was the one that had wall paper on 2 walls. I decided to experiment, so I made the Shaklee H2 twice as strong. That meant to add a teaspoon of cleaner to a pint of (I decided HOT) water. I used the Zinsser Paper Tiger to score the wall paper then I mixed more Shaklee H2 solution with HOT water and sprayed it on the wall paper. It is quite a mess, you just need plenty of drop clothes. But the real beauty here is that as you remove the wall paper you are cleaning off the wall paper paste and as the directions say on the bottle of Shaklee H2, no rinsing required. I will never use expensive products like DIF again.

Photos are compliments of Bethany Swygart. Bethany has surely won her He Woman points on this project because she did this while being a great Mom to 2 little ones. She is a fantastic Mom. Really she already had He Woman points enough. What a great girl. Thanks Bethany!!!
